Putin says children over 14 can engage in business activities

SOCHI, Jul 21 (PRIME) -- Teenagers aged over 14 could be engaged in business activities, but it is necessary to develop relevant rules for this in Russia, President Vladimir Putin said Friday at a meeting with children of the Sirius center.

"As far as business activities and the age at which these activities can be legal and full-fledged are concerned, we have 14 years of age in accordance with the current legislation, current law, a person can perform employment work with a necessity to comply with a large number of rules and restrictions associated with this labor activity,” Putin said.

“In my opinion, having in mind how this sphere of activity develops, bearing in mind that there are indeed a lot of young people, in quite a tender age, from the age of 14 they can engage in (business), it is necessary that this is legal. We just need to think through this system, which would guarantee human rights and would not create additional complications, from the point of view of exploitation of labor, responsibility and so on,” he said.
